影片根據《吹牛大王曆險記》改編，講述了13世紀一位叫孟豪森男爵的善於吹牛的德國人，因為一次與蘇丹王的打賭，搬走了蘇丹王的所有寶藏，並引發了戰爭。孟豪森男爵隻好找來他那一群天賦異秉的仆人——飛毛腿、大力士、千裏眼和順風耳，一起去消弭戰禍……
